Slightly more compact than most agapanthus, Midknight Blue is not only a great size for growing in pots, it blooms best when its roots are containerized. Its spherical, 5" flower heads, each made up of dozens of small, violet-blue, bell-shaped florets, grow above long, slender, bright green leaves. When the blooming period ends, the foliage mounds remain attractive for some time. The flower heads attract butterflies but are unappetizing to deer. Drought tolerant.
