Artemisia "Oriental Limelight" (Artemisia vulgaris "Oriental Limelight") brings a splash o f interest to the garden with light green leaves highlighted with white and yellow markings. It is a herbaceous perennial, which means it will live for several years, and it is a type of variegated mugwort. It grows as a perennial in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 4 through 9. Growth Habit Growing between 30 to 47 inches tall artemisia "Oriental Limelight" is well suited as an accent plant, in border areas, and as a container-grown perennial. Deer and rabbits are deterred by the fragrant leaves, making it a good choice if youre plagued by foliage-munching animals. The flowers are brown and nondescript. Growing Conditions Full sun, regular moisture and good drainage are the key to growing a healthy stand of artemisia "Oriental Limelight" perennials. This plant is not picky when it comes to soil conditions, growing well in sandy, loam and clay in a pH range from acidic to alkaline. Though full sun is best, artemisia "Oriental Limelight" can grow in part sun. The mature plants have a spread of 30 to 35 inches. Planting them 20 to 30 inches apart will create a dense stand without overcrowding the plants.
