Nun's orchid, also known as Phaius tankervilleae, is a species of terrestrial orchid that is native to Southeast Asia and Australia. It produces large, multicolored flowers on tall stalks, with shades of white, brown, and pink. The plant has broad leaves and can grow up to four feet tall. It is robust and easy to grow, making it an ideal choice for beginners. The nun's orchid is also sometimes called the greater swamp-orchid, swamp lily, veiled orchid, or nun's-hood orchid. The Nun's Orchid is a tender perennial and must be brought indoors in the winter.
