Salvia, Darcyi

Salvia darcyi is an evergreen perennial herb with woody stems and bright red-orange flowers. It can reach up to 1.5 meters in height and produces stolons. It is native to Mexico and is hardy in zones 5-9. It is a popular ornamental plant and is used in gardens for its colorful flowers. The flowers are held high above the foliage and bloom in late summer and early fall. It prefers full sun and regular well-drained soils and can be trimmed back in early summer to promote a more compact habit.
